1st Barnton Scout Group welcomes all young people into its sections.
Catering not only for young people from Barnton, we also have past and present members from the surrounding villages including Anderton, Marbury, Comberbach, Winnington and Little Leigh.
We have great facilities and space both at the Scout Hall and the surrounding area. We are ideally placed to make the most of the Vale Royal area, including Anderton Nature Park (and Boat Lift), as well as Marbury Park, plus local access to Forest Camp (a fantastic Cheshire Scouts Activity Centre & Camping Grounds in Sandiway). Our location and facilities make us a great base for Mid Cheshire Scout’s annual District Night Hike, which we have hosted regularly over recent years.
Scouting provides a second family to lots of young people. It is a safe place where they can aspire and grow.
One reason why Scouting remains the largest youth movement in the world is that it has great core values: it’s about faith, it’s about friendship, it’s about fun – it’s all part of what we wanted when we grew up.
We utilised the recent Covid lockdown period to carry out extensive refurbishment and upgrades to the Scout hall, installing new floors (and floor supporting), washrooms, and carrying out a full interior makeover.
The individual sections, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts cater for young people aged between 6 and 14 years respectively and provide a progressive, balanced programme.
